Forget AFRIMA & MTV Award! Wizkid vs Davido – Who Is Your Best African Act?

November 21, 2017 0

2017 has been a great year for African pop singers Wizkid and Davido as they have independently recorded massive successes both locally and globally.

Davido is credited to have the two hottest African pop songs of 2017 IF and FALL and the former earned a lengthy verse from RnB Veteran – Rkelly.
The singer also collaborated with Rapper – Yung Thug and American Trap group – Rae Sremmurd on his third release themed ‘Pere’.
The completion of his ’30 Billion World Tour’ which took singer to 30 cities across the world is also a very applaudable feat.
Then the recent massive glory, winning 2 Awards at the 2017 MTV EMA Award as “The Best African Act” and “The Best Worldwide Act“.
Davido has definitely had a great run in 2017.

Wizkid on the other hand has been on a rollercoaster of ‘records-smashing’.
From becoming the Most streamed African artist on Spotify to releasing an international tape [Sounds From the Other Side], snagging a Gold recognition in Canada for Come Closer [featuring Drake], landing in the Guinness book of record for his contribution on the most streamed song on Spotify worldwide and most recently becoming the first African artiste to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the list of his achievements is endless.
Then the recent one, winning 3 Awards at the 2017 AFRIMA Awards as “The Artiste Of The Year“, “Song Of The Year” and “The Best West African Artiste“.
Wizkid has equally had a fabulous run this year.
Now, to the big question of the day.
Forget AFRIMA & MTV EMA Awards, If Wizkid & Davido is to battle for 👇

Ekiti Governor Fayose Allows Death Penalty For Cultists, Terrorists… [Do You Support This?!]

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has signed into law, the bill prohibiting secret cults, terrorism and prescribing death sentence on anyone caught in the act.

While appending his signature to the bill at the Government House in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, Fayose said the law was a confirmation of the unwavering commitment of the state government to combating terrorism in the state.

A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, said the governor frowned on the resurgence of the scourge in the state, especially among students in tertiary institution

“From now, any person who is a member of a secret cult, whether or not the person is in possession or in control of any offensive weapon but commits the offence, is liable to conviction to death

“Any person who gives financial or material support or assistance to a secret cult or in any manner sponsor the activities of a secret cult, commits an offence under this law and is liable for conviction to imprisonment for life” he said.

The governor further warned that anybody, who intentionally encouraged the organising of a secret cult meeting or activities in places such as houses, nightclubs, hotels and other places would be committed to life imprisonment.

Regina Daniels Allegedly Leaks Best Friend’s Nudes For Refusing To Do This (Read FULL Gist)
So, there’s a story making rounds right now on Facebook, and it’s all started by Amanda Chisom.. Chisom revealed that a young teenage girl came to her, to reveal how teenage actress, her best friend, Regina Daniels threatened to leak her nude pictures, unless she sleeps with a Nollywood Producer.

Amanda wrote on Facebook yesterday;

“Meanwhile, yesterday a young girl came to me that this never more than 17 years nollywood actress was blackmailing her and threatening her with nudes if she does not go to sleep with a certain producer.

This is supposed to be a teenager oh threatening another teenager she asked for nudes so she can introduce her into acting that if she does not sleep with a certain producer.

In my typical fashion, I went to this child first and asked her to make sure that she does not post nudes of anybody and familiarise herself with the cyber crime act.

Obviously, she does not have any brain she decided she cannot be threatened with lawsuit and have initiated the process of posting the nudes.

So I will return the favour and post every chat , names and details. We were all teenagers , we did stupid things but for this one to assume her Asaba popularity and Instagram fame is enough to start pimping out her fellow teenagers to paedophiles and blackmailing people is something we must all cut at the root.

I do not even want to know who is involved and who gives her guts. This post is a cannon shot. Let those who know her tell her.

Because I will not only post, I will make sure the law goes after her. Let her take down the girl’s picture from that website before I wake up…”

She didn’t just stop there, she also shared pictures and screenshots of the messages she sent to Regina Daniels’s Verified Instagram page.

Now, Chisom claims Regina Daniels saw her above message, and “screenshotted” it, then sent it to the Girl in question, Her Best friend;

She also claims Regina Daniels posted the below on her Whatsapp story, after she (Amanda) threatened her with the Law.

Meet The World’s Highest-Paid Women In Music 2017

Meet The World’s Highest-Paid Women In Music 2017

Beyonce has been declared as the 2017 highest paid woman in music after raking in a whopping $105 million this year.

Shortly after Adele took home the Grammy award for Album of the Year in February, she broke it in half–with the intention of physically sharing it with Beyoncé, the internet concluded—in recognition of the latter’s Lemonade.
But Queen Bey won an even more valuable distinction outright: she’s this year’s highest-paid woman in music, pulling in a whopping $105 million pretax.
Lemonade was a hit with both critics and fans, giving Beyoncé her sixth solo No. 1. The ensuing Formation World Tour, much of it falling into our list’s scoring period, grossed a quarter of a billion dollars.

Then she took time off as she and husband Jay-Z welcomed twins Rumi and Sir this summer. Adele finished second, earning $69 million, boosted by seven-figure nightly grosses on her first proper tour since 2011.

Adele’s music appeals to listeners of all ages all over the world with her undeniably powerful, emotional vocal interpretations paired with timeless songwriting and production,” says multiplatinum singer-songwriter Skylar Grey. No matter what genre someone generally subscribes to, it’s hard to find a music lover who doesn’t appreciate what she does.

In order to form our list, we looked at pretax income from June 1, 2016 through June 1, 2017, and did not take out fees charged by agents, managers and lawyers. We gathered data from Nielsen SoundScan, Pollstar, the RIAA and interviews with industry insiders. The two mononymous stars both earned tens of millions more than the rest of the pack, but there are plenty of notable names further down the list.

Taylor Swift raked in $44 million to claim the No. 3 spot, representing a significant dip from the peak of her 1989 Tour. With the release of new alum Reputation—already the best-selling album of 2017—which came after the end of this list’s scoring period, look for her earnings total to rise significantly in next year’s accounting.

Celine Dion ranks fourth with $42 million, resuming a lucrative Las Vegas residency last February after going on hiatus in the wake of her husband’s January 2016 death. Jennifer Lopez rounds out the top five with $38 million, also boosted by a standing Sin City gig, as well as new show World of Dance, where she serves as both judge and producer.

The rest of the list proves that age is just a number: 71-year-old Dolly Parton (No. 6, $37 million) still tours with the rigor of stars half her age, grossing mid-six figures per city across 63 dates during our scoring period; Barbra Streisand (No. 10, $30 million) remains a huge draw even at 75, selling $46 million worth of tickets on her 14-show stint last year. Next up: Netflix special Barbra: The Music…The Mem’ries…The Magic!

Earning double-digit millions does not guarantee a spot on this vaunted list—as near misses Madonna, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande can attest. The first two names should be back in the running the next time they go on tour; the latter two could be, too, as their careers continue to progress.
Despite the success of the female stars on the list, there are regrettably still more than twice as many men than women among music’s top-earning stars. Acts like the ninth-highest-paid woman, Katy Perry–who earned millions from endorsement deals with the likes of CoverGirl, Claire’s and H&M–are doing their best to change that.

I am proud of my position as a boss, as a person that runs my own company,” she told Forbes. “I’m an entrepreneur. … I don’t want to shy away from it. I actually want to kind of grab it by its balls.
As for Adele’s Grammy? Sorry, folks–it seems she broke it in half by accident.
